The Shaker Hymn – 16th November 2013

The Shaker Hymn have been playing together as a four piece for over a decade. During this time the band have played in venues around Ireland supporting acts such as ex-Husker Du drummer Grant Hart and country royalty Chelsea Crowell, the latter taking two of the members to tour America with her, playing a stripped down acoustic set as her support.

Once back on Irish soil the band got to work on their debut album, recording with Cork based producer Christian Best (Mick Flannery, O Emperor). Driven by the prospect of releasing their first album, the band have been writing a healthy supply of new songs, encouraged by some new influences such as Kurt Vile, Tame Impala, as well as some old ones, Alex Turner and Townes Van Zandt to name but a few.

The Shaker Hymn will release their debut album in late 2013. The songs are melodic, immediate and dynamic; created by four friends who have remembered why it is that they began playing together in the first place.

The Shaker Hymn play the Pine Lodge Myrtleville on Saturday 16th November 2013
